EDI conducts studies on wildlife in a wide variety of terrestrial habitats. Wildlife studies conducted by EDI include:

  • Population inventories including transect surveys, plot surveys, browse surveys, live-trapping, radio collaring and mark-recapture methods
  • Wildlife habitat inventories for the purpose of assessing habitat suitability and identifying significant or rare habitat features
  • Wildlife population and habitat use and selection modeling
  • Wildlife management plans
  • Expertise in avian, small mammal, ungulate and large carnivore ecology
  • Genetic analysis for population assessments
  • Stable isotope analysis for dietary assessment and trophic interactions
  • Environmental assessments for proposed developments
  • Bird surveys (song birds and raptors)
