Training

EDI shares its experience and expertise through the development and presentation of a variety of training courses, as well as the integration of training and capacity building components into a range of other projects. Course development and training activities are based on extensive professional experience and a sound understanding of regulatory requirements.

Over the past 12 years, EDI has trained hundreds of individuals in multiple sectors. Training courses and activities delivered by EDI include:

  • First Nations training and capacity building
  • Presentations to industry, including training in stream crossing assessment and installation procedures for construction workers, and fish identification workshops
  • Courses on practical erosion and sediment control in BC, Alberta and the Yukon
  • Fisheries Technician training courses
  • Instructing Resources Inventory Committee (formerly RIC) courses
  • Production of Training and Teaching Manuals for Fish and Fish Habitat Assessments produced for the Resource Inventory Committee of the British Columbia Provincial Government

    EDI's staff members also act as instructors for the Erosion and Sediment Control and Environmental Monitoring courses offered through the Malaspina Natural Resources Extension Program.
